Whats all involved in putting an auto trans in my b2000 if at all possible? Does anyone know if the auto trans is and longer or shorter as far as having to change my drive shaft length also any help would be greatly appreciated!

The driveshaft and carrier bearing is different on an extended cab but I'm not sure on a regular cab.

you need the trans, the flex plate, the torque converter, the rearmost trans mount, the carrier bearing, the driveshaft, the shifter assembly, the radiator, and the cooling lines. There is also a dashpot that screws into the factory carb to raise the idle when you put it in gear. if you care about the overdrive button (it will still go into overdrive without the button hooked up, you just wont be able to turn overdrive off by pushing the switch), you will need the small wire harness and a way to power the switch.

Cool thanks Russ, I just wanted to see if it was going to be more work than trying to relocate the clutch master cylinder since im not going to have much room.

Don't forget the speedo cable too. I believe it is different between the standard and automatic trucks.

I love the auto trans. Its actually pretty snappy, no real penalty for the slushbox.

i got an auto in mine. i looked for like a year and a half until i found my truck. but its a factory auto. speaking of auto trans does anybody know if the 2600i auto trans are different than the b2200 one like i got?
