Just Base and Clear

base and clear can get hot and bubble.. they make a 2 stage engine enamel i believe.. if you dont know how to spray, they sell it in spray cans, take your time and apply it evenly and you cant tell.

THE most important part is clean and prep!!! I Normal base/clear can last a long time.

any paint can get hot and bubble. the simple fact that a motor shouldnt EVER get over 250 degrees, is enough safety that base/clear will work perfectly fine. Prime it first of course, as it is bare metal after fresh rebuild.

yea i base cleared mine 6 years ago with no problems.. oil leaks can stain it though.
also por-15 makes an engine paint-- i havent used it, but if it works like there regular formula its bad ass stuff-- plus its self leveling, so if you use a little technique you could brush/roll/foam bruch it on, and you would never see brush marks..

the bad thing about base/clear is that on a motor clear starts turing yellow so im just seeing if anyone else has any ideas. what do u guys think about ceramic coating but dont know

prep with a scotch brite and lacquer thinner, etch or epoxy prime it and then you can single stage it or base clear it they will both hold up preperation is key though

clear turns yellow if you only put clear on it and no base!
