these are the low level series you wont like them they are in no way comparable to the old strokers hints the price and if your blowin your shit that quick your system needs to be tuned in not nockin at you but you cant just though is a sub and amp and not tune it all in to match the trucks freq. and the subs perfomance.
and if you want alot of sound thats clean plan on spending some money on it
loud doesnt mean clean destortion is what kills subs

james is right and those subs you listed havent even been made for atleast 5 or 6 years which is pretty good for a sub these days check out rockfords new stuff weve been installing alot of it snd i have yet to see even 1 blow but remember what james said.

cmon man you think i just threw the sub and amp in and didnt tune it? thats the first thing i did i just lke to drive alot withthe volume maxed out and the subs cant take the heat and blows a voice coil

which means it wasn't tuned properly...

you cant max out volume, you have to play accordingly to the tuning of the amp. tuning also doesn't mean you can just turn the gain and hope for the best.

I have played a couple of my systems on a 12 hour road trip to orlando at quite a loud level almost the whole way through.

If you tune your system properly you can turn it up all the way with no problems thats what tuning is for. where did you hear cerwin vega is out of business? they just announced a new 21 inch sub less than 3 months ago.

and yes by tuning i didnt have the amp turned up all the way i had it set to about 1/4 with the bass and the radio was tuned and everything too
