ok, pics will be up tomorrow. this is the story. my buddy used a primer sealer on my truck, like a blueish. i redid the bottom half with a grey sealer. ok, last weekend i redid the whole truck with hot rod flatz daytona blue pearl, a couple problems i had, one being my gun got dirty or was clogged up, so the paint would come out some and then nothing, or if i held it a certain way, it was good to go. i did the jams and inside doors and interior the night before, they came out great, very happy. but another thing is you can still see like the two tone or where it was. why so? not enough coats? my gun wasnt clean enough to lay it out even?can i just scuff it up and get some more paint and shoot another coat? please help me, i get discouraged fast. this was my first full paint job. the inside looks great. sorry no pics...tomorrow for sure i will have like 10 of em. thanks. please tell me i dont have to primer it.im telling you, hot rod flatz pearls are nice, check em out. thanks alot. joel

need more coats to core the primer. what psi r u spraying n what kind of gun? also if its gravity feed make sure the hole in the top is open

the hole on top of the paint holder? its gravity feed. about 40 psi. i have only 2 more post after this, so im gonna save em for tomorrow/pics to be put up. so the little piece on top of the paint holder should be off? hmmm......so a few more coats should do? i know, i need the pics. im about to leave work, so tomorrow for sure im gonna throw up like 10 of em and save my last couple post until then...thanks alot

Make sure the hole in the center of the lid is not clogged like George said. Is that 40psi at the gun? If so thats way to much pressure, you only need between 25Psi and 30Psi at the gun. You need to make sure your gun is cleaned very well, break it completely down and clean every part with thinner. Gun distance is also key you should be anywhere from 6"-10" away from your substrate. There are a number of things it could be causing your troubles.

ok, heres a few pics....one thing i didnt know and didnt do was take the little piece off the top of the paint gun paint holder...it just lets air out more or sinc ei left it on can it really make a big difference? also, i shot it at about 35 psi stright from the compressor.......i did a really nice prep job, i mean no cutting corners ( i tried) and this was my first attempt and it wont be my last. so i guessi should hit it with 320 and shoot another coat on it. yea, my gun is like a $60 gravity feed gun. i need some tips, do's and dont's. any help from you guys. thanks alot.

i did the whole interior, pics dont really show it..i still have a few things to throw in it tho..

and heres a console i made out of fiberglass, its not done yet...

thanks for looking and any help you gave me. later

Hit it with 600 if you just sprayed it. If you can still see the line where the 2 tone was then you never featherd the line out. If you can see the old 2 tone colors then you just need more base on it.

THE HOLE BEING CLOSED UP IN THE LID WILL MAKE THE GUN SPRAY LIKE SHIT AND IF YOU CAN STILL SEE THE PRIMER TWO TONE EDGE I WOULDNT TRY TO BURY IT I WOULD BLOCK THE SHIT OUT OF IT TILL IT FEELS FLAT AND THEN I WOULD SEAL IT RIGHT BEFORE YOU BASE IT

Like the others have said, if u can still see the clors of the 2 tone, u need more paint on it, if u can still feel the line of the 2 tone, it needs to be sanded flat. it looks like u need more material. make sure ur gun is super clean, and that whole on the lid is open.

ok, thanks guys. this is my last post till tuesday ( cheap, but i gonna ungrade next week lol)
but yea, when i did it, i left that little piece on the lid ( stupid ass i guess, but it was my first) and with the line, i tried to sand it smooth as possible and it is pretty smooth ( both- the line you cant feel and the paint is smooth) so yea, im gonna order some more monday and try again in 2 weeks. super clean gun for sure. i did my jams and doors the night before and put the gun in a plastic bag thinking it would be ok in the morning ( dumb ass move )
but hey, i tried. i want to be great at it, i want people to come to me for paint, but i have to start somewhere and i love it. thanks agin. i had to throw up these pics..im the only guy into the customs around my area and my ggod frinds arent really into it,( sucks balls) so all i really have is the internet for sharing/showing/asking etc. next week it is. later

first off i like the color and it doesnt look that bad from the pics but is it me or does it look like the paint is really thin on the bottom half of the doors
