Joel, save your posts you don't have to post back but just a few tips. Never shoot your base over 2 different colored primers. You will always end up with 2 different colors of base after it is applied. Anytime you have something that is prept and you are ready to apply your base color, use a sealer over the entire vehicle right before you apply your base. The sealer will ensure that your base will have uniform color over the entire vehicle and will not allow bleed through into your primer. All paint manufacturers supply a color hue number that should be applied before the base to achieve the same color as the color chip you see in the book. The number will be 1 through 7. Your paint supplier can supply you with the correct color for the base color you are using, it will be on the label on the can. After you have applied the recomended coats of base, Take a light and go around the entire vehicle and make sure you have uniform color through out. If you don't, it will show up. You did a good job for your first paint job. I shot my first truck when I was 16 and I'm 45 now. It wasn't my best paint job but you will learn more and more with every job you do. I do believe that with your skills you show here and your desire to paint does warrent you upgrading your gun. You don't have to have a $500 gun when starting out, but you do get what you pay for with a gun too. The most important thing is setting up your guns spray pattern. It sucks you have it un-masked already, if it was me, I would shoot a sealer over what you have and then re-apply your base. Nice truck and Keep up the good work!
