sup i have a couple of questions

1.im going to start doing the body work on my chevy dually can i use lacquer grey primer for now untill i prime the whole truck with 2k?

2.what you think about after market fenders i can get the for 35 bucks ......

3.and were ever im going to put rage gold do i take that spot to bare metal and should i use dura glass before rage

1. lacquer primer is junk, it fills no scratches, will shrink and all your body work will show.. think maaco
2. after market fenders are sweet 35 bucks for brand new sheet metal.. that cant be beat!!
3. dura glass is only used for making dashes lol. if you need dura glass on anything your wrong. bare metal is not always necessary, but depending on what your doing it will help being bare metal 40 or 80 grit, to promote adhesion of the bondo.
4. i would suggest a simple do it your self body work book for you to read before you start, so you have a more rounded knowledge. body work isnt hard, nor scary, but there is somethings you need to take into concideration.

Bondo on bare metal is a no no.Moisture gets in between the metal and bondo and my cause problems down the road.I would bare metal every thing then spray sealer then bondo.Try to work the metal before the sealer. So when you bondo its not to thick.

After market parts are cheap for a reason. They fit like shit most of the time.

if you go aftermarket physically go to the place, dont get it shipped to you, make sure its in good shape before you pay for it

if you guys had any idea how many "show" trucks have after market stuff on them...

and for the comment up above of "Moisture gets in between the metal and bondo and my cause problems down the road..."
then how do you do body work? i have worked in sveral body shops, and if we had to stop and primer or seal everything before we could put bondo on it, thats just, im not even gunna talk about it any more, that is just plain retarded to even think about it

Nobody said their are not any vehicles without aftermarket parts on them, we just said they usually always dont fit worth a shit.

i kinda like aftermarket parts....because they make a vehicle different....if i wanted to be the same i would sell my bd'd ram and buy a civic...

what do you sand the sealer with before you apply filler?
