I was thinkin about that and I thought it would be ok, but I am going to connect the lower bracket bars to the upper bracket and tie it into the notch. Then start on some tube work for the bag brackets. I think I have and idea on what I can do for those lower brackets since they are already welded in.

You need to grind those welds off the notch and redo them with a beefier welder because they look cold as fuck and the same goes for the booger welds on the tabs. Just giving ya a heads up on potential failure points I can see.

Im not trying to make my welds pretty just presentable and strong.

What do you guys think about the bag placement? Should the lower bracket be centered or offset forward or back?

You need to plate the frame where you attatch crossmembers like that lower one. Theres a lot of stress on that crossmember, and the frame is very very thin on the inside of the box where it is welded. They tend to pull, flex, and tear right there.

I removed a crossmember that buckled that portion of the frame once.

seth, quick question... do you stitch weld everything? just curious as I still know ppl that vouch for both methods???
