You need to plate the frame where you attatch crossmembers like that lower one. Theres a lot of stress on that crossmember, and the frame is very very thin on the inside of the box where it is welded. They tend to pull, flex, and tear right there.

I removed a crossmember that buckled that portion of the frame once.

seth, quick question... do you stitch weld everything? just curious as I still know ppl that vouch for both methods???

I actually don't stich weld much at all. That is stitch welded, because that was when my welder was acting up. It would only let gas flow for about 2 seconds, so I ran the heat up way high and turned the speed down and stitched that. I go back and forth though, just depends on what I'm doing and how I feel. If I stitch though, I run the settings way hotter than I would if I was laying a straight bead.

right on, yeah I always here people go back and forth on that subject, and I think both have their purpose as long as it's done right

What do you guys think about the bag placement? Should the lower bracket be centered or offset forward or back?

I wouldnt set ur bag mounts until after u get the front laid out. If u set them now, then u go to do the front, the frame will pivot on the ground until the front lays out and then u lose lift because ur bag mounts spaced apart. By doing the rear first also causes over-notching a truck quite often... Just my 2 cents...

how did u set ur bars and rearend angle up laid out or ride height

I set the 4 link up at ride height to keep the lowers parallel with the ground. When I mounted the bags I took the front tires off and leveled it out then I mounted the bags.
