Ok, well I am switching from a auto to a manual transmission. We are almost done, but it will not crank. We got the starter checked and it is good. Could it be anything from the column considering it's the same one minus the auto shifter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think the other guy person is right, hook up the neutral safety switch directly to ground, and it should work. its basically a switched ground setup. ground it and you should be good.

another option, put the key in on, foot on the clutch, out of gear. then have somebody cross the points on the starter relay.

A switch that keeps you from starting your truck with an automatic tranny unless it is in the "park" position. Since you changed yours over, just find the wire to the swith and ground it.

We grounded it but nothing. We turned the lights on and the wipers and tried to start it and the wipers stopped so we think the battery may be low.
