Ok, we tried it again. I grounded out the middle prong(the book says its the ground)and we fried the alligator wire thing. This is depressing

Bump..what else could we try

flux capacitor or the turn signal fluid

OK, we are running into some more problems. We grounded the switch, and no crank. Now the blinkers or my alarm wont work. I checked all the fuses and they are good. On the switch the only prong needed to be grounded is the middle one right?

Ok dude ssm is good for reference but you should never ground a wire because someone told you to.There is a lot of good stuff on here but mixed in with some redonkulous crap.If you were going to mess with the switch you should have pulled it out and manual pushed it into park.If you can't get it to start without the autotranny I would try a push button start. If that don't work you might have to change the harness.Try starting the truck at the starter to make sure it will even run first.

Thanks for the info. I have been told on three forums to ground that wire out so it will be deleted. I don't quite understand the first solution. Could you go more into detail, thanks

We cranked the starter. We checked the fuses under the hood and found the ignition fuse blow we replaced it and it blew again. What could be causing it to blow?

Ok, got that working but the starter still isnt turning the motor.
