witha 2 pump you are using each pump to control one set of wheels (front and rear).just remember that you should run 2 check valves, or else the fuid will transfer on turns and cause an unsafe truck. kinda like having a dump valve in air systems for a set of wheels. the air or fluid goes through the path of least resistance, so if the weight get transfered to the left on a right turn your left wheel will drop(more) than your right one.
Fluid cannot transfer from left to right on a 2 pump 4 dump setup. The dumps will not allow it to.
the dump allows the fluid to go back to the pump when activated, it's the check valve that stops it from going back once it's been pumped in. if you have a 1 pump setup with 1 dump(one check valve)going to you back wheels, the fluid goes from the pump past the check valve and to the hoses going to each cylinder, but nothing stops it from transfering from one cylider to the other. if you were to put weight on the left side, it would cause the left side to drop some and the right side to raise, and vice versa because one side has more pressure than the other. if you have a one pump 2 dump setup(2 check valves) the each wheel is independent of each other(the fluid goes past each check valve to sepperate hoses) and no matter how much weight you put in one corner, the fluid wont compress, so it wont transfer the weight or roll.
i think we're both trying to say the same thing but in different ways. you can't have a dump without a check valve, but it's the check valve that keeps the car up. and there wont be any body roll in a 4 dump setup because each wheel has an independent check valve keeping the fluid from moving. and that can be done with 1,2,3,4 pumps.
but it is possible to have a 2 pump 2 dump setup that would ride horrible because the fluid would transfer from left to right depending in where the weight is on the car.
