we did an 85 pup not too long ago at my shop. here is the link for some pics. we used 2500s up front, and we used torsion brackets and had to notch the lower control arm. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=184231376&albumId=513281

You will need to buy or make torsion style brackets, and '2500's would be the common size.. (larger may be possible with more trimming)..

As for spindles, I can't remember from my friends who had Pups what they had to do to completely lay.. but notching the lower control arm could work, but don't hack the shit out of it.. only do it if there's a way to reinforce it so it's safe. Otherwise, spindles would be the right way to go.. cost a little more, but should also fix the camber a little. You might have to cut the inner fender wells and relocate some things once you are laying.. I guess you just need some tips from other pup owners really..

Check ebay for the wheels, and if you need any air parts, I'd be glad to help.

You can fit 2500# bags up front with out having to do any trimming. If you want to put 2600# bags up front you will need to notch into your front frame. You will not have to notch the lower control arm if you are planing on running escalade wheels. Just use or make torsion style brackets and weld it up. Pretty easy front end to bag like most imports. You also should not need spindles to lay on escalade wheels. I just finished body dropping mine and I am using stock spindles and have not notched my lower control arms (running Z71 wheels). And yes you will have to cut your inner fender wells and some out of your rear. Need anything else just hit me up. Its pretty easy

noone makes a spindle for the 81-87 isuzus. id suggest a slam specialty re-6, i have firestone 2500s in my truck and on one side it barely rubs the frame and the other barely rubs the spindle. basically you have just over 6" to put the bag. its tight. you can notch the lower control arms and pie cut the uppers to lay. im building control arms for mine, but im also going balls to the wall.

i need to get working on mine cuz it seems these trucks arent as rare as they used to be...

keele, the 81-87 is completely different than the 88-94. its a much smaller truck.

Always good news to hear you can lay without spindles LOL

thanks i am starting to understand now i have done a nissan hardbody before so it is the same pretty much i just dont understand the notching the lower control arm

well what happens is that there isnt enough suspension travel to lay out. there are not drop spindles available for the early isuzus. what youll have to do, is jack the suspension up to lay out. the LCA will contact the frame. notch the LCA until it does lay out. the re-plate the to regain structure to the control arm.

its no where near as easy as a nissan h/b. its tedious, but the outcome is awesome
