(Looking) PPG Line of Sealer, Tape/Paper

Looking for better quotes than what I've got on PPG line sealer, paint, and 3M tape and whatever kind of paper.. also Evercoat Rage filler.

I was quoted around $100 for tape/paper (tape from walmart, etc.. $40 for all the paper i'd need)

Then.. about $40 a can for the Rage..

And, about $350-400 for a gallon of PPG sealer (w/ hardener, etc), and a quart of paint to tint it.

What are you trying to do? Just spray the truck in sealer for a while? If so, I'd go the Transtar route. Gallon of sealer can't run over $100ish. I use the green tape(the most expensive stuff), which is about $6 a roll for 1.5", and $3 a roll for 3/4". I'd get 2 rolls of each, as well as a roll of green 36" paper. Check with your local carquest paint store if there's one near you. They have pretty good prices

I will definitely check Carquest! He said to get rolls of 3/4" and 1.5".. I'll browse around for cheapest on those and the paper.

He's going to shave a few things and seal it for me for a while, (tinted a blue color), will Transtar be good quality? He said he uses all PPG at the shop he works at, and just sprayed a car with the lower quality paint from PPG and didn't like it as well as the higher priced stuff. They quoted him like $150 cheaper for the lower quality (but still PPG) stuff.. would that or Transtar be better?

I know the cost of the PPG sealer for my truck was under $300 and it's 2 diff colors.

Could you let me know exactly the type or if it has a reference # I could mention to him? Your truck looks great.. so that'd be better.

What color blue is that?

you need PPG k93, color you want to tint with,PPG ncx255 activator.

k93 is the primer /sealer, ncx255 is the activator. you can get a dmd series color to add to the k93.

350-400 a gallon?!?!? my god. use HOK at that cost. HOK is cheaper than that by far.

theres a site thats like kustom kulture.com or something like that, its a full on HOK site. you can use that stuff and get off WAY cheaper than using PPG stuff, and good quality.

you should easily be able to do a s10 with a quart and a half bec ive done fullsize cars like a monte carlo with 2 qts. i wana say the dp is like $55 a qt here im not sure how much the dp402(activator) a roll of paper is like $15-20 and you will prolly spend 15-20 on tape if u are 2 tonin it. u should be able to do everythin for around $200, oh yeah dp can be cleared over if u ever wanted to make it permanent
