u need to line that cone up perfectly or as close to perfect as you can get it

a spacer woudlnt be bad either

was there something wrong with the box because ive had a subwoofer do the same thing and it was because there was too much airspace in the box and it was dropping bottom and it finally gave up.. i just bought a new sub

its probably old, and just was played real hard. but like i said (along with everyone else) realligning it is a bitch, and not worth it. To do so, you need a cardboard shim, pretty much paper board (the kind you used as a presentation piece in middle school) or some thing plastic sheet. remove the dustcap, place the shim around the coil, and glue it up........all this as if the coil didnt seperate from the tinsel leads. if that happened, don't worry fixing it.

Tinsel leads should be fine. The coil wires and the lead wires are wound and soldered at the coil neck and do not run through the cone. You can ohm the coil and see what you get, if you get an ohm reading it should be close to what the woofer is, then you'll know its good. We used nylon sheet at RF.

they dont run THROUGH the cone, but some companies glue them to the cone to keep them from slapping and all that. seen it a couple times.

also, some (dont think eclipse does) are run through the spinder, and if that ripped away, the tinsels could be screwed.

the best bet is to call over to eclipse and ask for Paul, he handles most of the warranty things for my company. he should be able to help you and suggest to you what you should do.
