Why is my 5.4 so loud???

I just got a 2002 ford f150 with the 5.4 in it. Why is the motor so loud? I just put a flomaster on it and cant hear it in the cab. Will a intake dround out some of that noise???

is it motornoise like... belts and all that or is it the exhaust

an intake will make it louder

put dynamat on the firewall and hood

Yes it sounds like belts or the fan... Is there anything i can do to make that sound go away

not really dood thats just what they do
its a big motor trying to keep itself cool

so your sayin you put a flowmaster on it and its too loud? run pipes all the way out bacvk and itll quiet down, if not check your fan clutch.

yea the factory sounddeadener sux ballsack. those motors are loud as hell anyways.

So will a intake quite it down at all, Or dround out the old noise?

I just think it's a sad day when people are refering to a 5.4l as a "big motor".
