Why is my 5.4 so loud???

corvette summer the draggin scene in the begining of the movie is badass.

I had a 1999 F150 and it had the Triton 5.4 in it and that bitch was loud and quick to. I had the exhaust shop cut the exhaust and run it to the side and have side exhaust with angle cut tips. It was loud and sounded bada**. It wasn't a shitty loud either it was just all engine. I loved it being so loud. I ain't no engine expert and I know people will argue with me cuz some people don't like ford. I think the Triton 5.4 is a hell of a engine. It's strong and powerful. I wouldn't want to quiet it down as far as like it having loud exhaust but thats me. Later!!!

i had lifted f250 with a dual in/dual out flowmaster (exiting in front of the pass wheel)with no cats and no ypipe and it was effin loud!

An intake will increase the sound level, but it will also increase your performance level as well (Too some extent)depending on your other engine mods.
Your best choice is to do as stated above an add sound deadening to the cab. Firewall, flooring, doors, rear cab wall. This will not only quite things up for you it will also improve upon any stereo upgrades you may have or plan to do in the near future
