Nothing against Firestones at all, great bags.. but now I mainly sell nothing but Slams, just for the fact of better ride quality and more lift. Slams/Firestone/Contitech.. all great bags IMO.

better to go with firestone they been in this air bag business for a while so firestone the way to go

Holding the 2 bags in my hands made my mind up real quick. The difference was like sheetmetal=firestone and 1/4 plate=slams. Much beefier bag. Plus they don't blow up like ballons. The more lif the slimmer they get. I have re-8's on all for corners. They get alot more lift than stones. No comparison in my book.

just got my slams in and put them on, i lose a little drop, but the ride is so much better, lose drop is no big deal, because it is time to redo the bag setup in the rear

I'm in the same boat. I have firestones all the way around and I know they have been on there for years but they are starting to split from the mounts as well. I've thought about switching to slams. It rides great now so can't complain there with the stones but the I need the ones that compress the most. So yea...I feel your pain!

The slams compress to 2.9" and the Firestones compress to 2.75". I set up everything to 3" so there is always room for error. The only slams that I have used were a bitch to work with, but they did offer more lift.

I can not see how so many of you think that the slams ride so much better. The only thing that I can figure is that none of you have enough valving in your shocks and need a stiffer part like the slams to compensate.

I know what you guys are talking about with the cracked rubber around the mounts on the Firestone tho, I've had a few do the same to me, but I still ran mine for 5 more years with zero issues untill I sold the car to a friend that didn't have any probs either.

I have been installing Firestones ONLY for 10 years now and I can't remember a time when a Firestone part has ever failed me. I might have installed some wrong and had issues from it, but nothing from the factory. The guy that I get some of my parts from has been bagging vehicles sence 1982 and he still runs only Firestones. And if I need some technical help with springrates or some other off-the-wall question, the tech guys will always be there.

But as for Slams... We'll see how Low Life Mike's truck does...

I think he was looking for opinions...Could be wrong though.
