ABS question

The pedal on my 01 Sierra has been pulsing on and off lately, mostly when I am about to come to a complete stop, and moving fairly slow. Feels like the ABS is grabbing, but the roads are not wet or icy. Is there a sensor that is or could be going bad?

Does it do it all the time or is it only occstionally?

occasionally, not all the time, but only when I get down to almost stop, 15mph or less.

when my S-10 dose that its time for new pads. have you checked your pads?

That could possibly be a cause. It could be a sensor but usually that will trigger an ABS light to come on.

I have not checked the pads yet. I thought that may have been the problem, just havent gotten that far yet, been busy moving into a new house, so the trucks have been on the back burner, I'll have to pop a wheel off this weekend and take a look. I am not getting any warning lights or anything, so I'll check the pads first before I dig too much deeper.

Alright, so I changed the front pads, the ones that I took off, still looked to have about 1/2 their life left, but oh well. I still get the ABS pulse from time to time, only when I'm about to stop. I am not getting any warning lights or anything, what could it be?

You changed the pads but did you turn the rotors? If the rotors have alot of run-out they can cause a pulsation through the pedal also.

yeah i would definitely get the rotors checked and cut. over time they get glazed and cause this pulsation. get them checked for heat spots wherever you get to cut them. if it were abs related your abs light would come on.
