And what about swapping sides and flipn em so they taper to top???

+1 on lowering them down to fit between the body lines. this way you can have the top and bottom body line be wider if need be and it still looks factory. as far as the sides you have th stretch out the metal to meet the contour of the light. you can also weld your new tail light tub further out so it blends out the fact that it tapers in. are you keping the tailgate or welding on a skin?
if you're not keeping the tailgate then the wether the lines at the taitgate opening are flush dont matter as much. i would focus on the top and bottom of the tail being close to flush on the sides and then stretch the metal in the middle.

are you keeping the dip in the top of the bed? if not, then focus ont he bottom and sides lining up as much as posible since you can shim the metal out or in a little where the dip is.

alot of variables unfortunately...
good luck with it

I have the buckets. And if you guys read one set of pictures is right side up, and one upside down.

It looks like the lower part could take a whole new radiused piece instead of trying to fit to the factory radius. So just continue your cuts down and I like to use 3/16 solid rod to form the rough shape of things and it also gives some support back and something to tack to as you go. Good luck man.

if your going to fill in the bed to make it look like the 84/88 american bed, that will help fill in the top part, and if u skin'in the gate, move em a lil more!

I am filling it, and skinning it. But move them where? They already stick out past the bedside in the middle, and are inside on the top and bottom no matter which way they are placed.
