Okay my popper is starting to get sticky. At first it worked all the time. Then it would take two clicks, then three. Now it takes more than I care to count before it pops. So I got in it and looked at it. Its pulling, but not all the way. If I push down on it it goes the rest of the way. And its pulling at a good angle. Its about a 15 degree angle, and pulls toward the direction the latch swings. This is on the driver side, which has always been kind of a sticky door for some reason, even with the 3-4 doors I've had on that side. The passenger side works flawlessly every time. Any suggestions?

It is grounded to the body, not the door.

im assuming your using a solenoid door popper?
TwistedMinis   +1y
Yeah. Its SPAL if it makes a difference.

Seth, all the solenoids are pretty much made in the same place..china its a common problem with those...unless its your door latch. I always recommend taking the latch out and cleaning it when putting door poppers on. You can clean it with brake cleaner then re-grease it with white lithum grease...if you still have that problem,i can sell you just one side of our door poppers if you needed!

Ive had a similar problem like that on the drivers side door on my eclipse. Its was either the solenoid door popper had moved just enough to make it now pull down far enough or it was about to go out completly.
Ive got spal also & if the angle on the soleniod isnt perfect then it will not work right. Try changing the angle just alittle & see what happens.

I'll adjust the angle tomorrow and see what happens. I'm pulling the truck apart to try to work out all the little kinks like that that bug me.

Kris, I'll try cleaning it, and I will try swapping out the latch, seeing as I kept all the latches when I cut the extra doors up. Lol. I might also need a switchbox soon since EAI won't stand behind their warranty.. You guys warranty your boxes?
chevygurly   +1y
Yea we do...right now our 9 & 7 switchboxes are in stock

just hit me up when your ready.ill take care of ya!

Pull it out clean it stuff some grease in the top then pull it up and down to work the grease in a bit. Dont put power to the popper unless its under load. then re mount the popper in a new location making sure it has a as strait shot to the latch as possible. If this isnt possible goto the bicycle shop and get a 90 degree router thing for brakes. It looks like a 1/4 circel with a groove in it. they also have a wheel with a groove in it there very easy to mount and lets you mount the popper in all sorts of angles.
