Im just going to cut the floor and let the cab drop to some tubing tacked to the frame. Anyone got some pics of a traditional on a square body? Im going to cut on the outside of the cab mounts so i dont have to mess with them. the part im worryed about is the firewall. Please help. Where shall I cut for this to go as smooth as possible? And are there any hidden snags that are going to keep the cab from dropping after its cut? Thanks.

3.5 should be even w/ the frame. cut outside the body mounts or it wont work, and angle the outer filler plates so the door panels will still work. cut the firewall were the floor is seamed ot the firewall and go right above the tranny tunnel. you will have to shorten your pedals also.

By right above the tranny tunnel...do you mean where it is seamed to the firewall also? Or just a little higher? Everything else will seem to work. Thanks for the help.

I got tons of pics when i bodydropped mine from begining to end but ill have to look for them tonite. I did a 4" and still kept the stock heater in it.

Yeah man that would be great if you could dig those up and post them here. So far everyones been a lot of help. I plan to start cutting saturday morning! 4" is what i decided to go with also. Heat isnt really a big deal though, I dont plan on using it. Did you run into any snags after you made all you cuts that kept the cab from dropping? I got all the big stuff out of the way but im just wandering if there is anything hiding thats going to stop the cab from dropping. It looks like the valve cover is going to hit the firewall....

I did have to cut up into the top part of the firewall where it sticks forward to allow the ventilation to the cab. you could see the valve cover through the vents in front of the window. also with 4" i had to cut the shit outta the hood all the way up to the cam gear. but im pretty sure its the same with a stock motor because mine was with the turbo 2.3L

So when you cut the top part was that for clearance or just ventilation? Does is HAVE to be cut? I have a 2.3 turbo to go in it also. The motor in it is the 2.3 fuel injected. How hard was that swap? I got the motor, fuel pump, and the computer. That all i need? If you can get those pics Id really appreciate it man. They would sure come in handy. Thanks yo. Everyones been lots of help already.

i finally was able to find the pics and scan them. it may be too late now but here they are. i couldnt find them all but i hope this still helps. the top part i cut was for clearance. the back of the valve cover would hit. do you have all the sensors that come on the motor. its a pretty easy swap to do but mine was a little more difficult because someone cut the wires off on the harness and i was also goin from carbed.
