I agree with the stud gun...just put a shrinking tip on it and go around the outside of the dent and work your way in. that will tighten up the metal enough to take it out with your hammer and dolly.

man you would have been fine not say'n its the best way of doin it but restore and build hotrods for a living and you would never believe how much dough i have sanded off some of these show cars that have been built for 15-20 years that were not cracked. no joke seen way t many with as much as an inch of filler. again not say'n its right but a quarter inch is not something i'd spend a day on

if prepped properly and sealed up good it shouldnt have cracked. i've seen some really thin plastic crack because it wasnt prepped right and some thick ass plastic not budge. roofs are tough since itll get alot of heat from the sun, but look at how may people cut up hoods to put cowls in. that hood has to be covered from end to end practically in plastic(whether thick or thin), and that gets a beating from the sun and the engine.
look at overhaulin or boyd's show. their cars are covered from end to end in plastic. you're telling me they keep it all less than 1/8". bull. the metal may look straight but once the filler goes on they dont take it off because it seems too low. they just slop more on.

Thats a bit thick if you have a loud stereo forget about it staying even a week. Heat it with a heat gun then take a can of compressed air for cleaning computers turn the can upside down and spray the liquid nitrogen on the heated spot.
