and its the people that drive away in the beat up honda that just have maybe ruined that event and thats where Mine and Mikes posts tie into the first one. Being that I have organized an event...the Forbidden Fantasy Show...since 98..I know from experience watching the cops come in and kick out 5000 people and a 1000 cars from my show because of IDIOTS...that..didnt have a car at the show.

^^ word man, it sucks when you come to a show with your crew or club or friends, or whatever you call yourself, and someone brings their friend who just wants to party and Eff stuff up. Get drunk, pick some fights, force other people to look after them, and ruin the show for next year for everyone else.

I do agree with Abercrombie, people do need to build sick stuff and bring em to shows instead of talking about how great it used to be. Make it better next year.

Kinda off topic, but I don't understand why people build sick ass cover trucks and stuff drive em for a couple months then sell em. Then you never see those trucks as shows anymore. There obviously exceptions, but you see lots of feature trucks for sale then they disappear, it kinda ruins some of the smaller shows, that used to get home builts and covers alike, now it seems you only see full finished feature worthys at Big ass shows.

well half the problem is, theres a big bunch of people that never get off the puter and wrench on something. they sit on the computer and bitch that there arent as many show worthy vehicles, and this show sucked and that show is about to die, but never wrench on a ride so they can make a difference. dont get me wrong, when i go to a show i like to drink with the best of them...but when u get tooo sloppy to where someone needs to take care of u its time to go to bed. and u have to be mature enough to where when ur drunk u dont make a complete ass out of urself. or try to destroy everything in site. i guess its basically put up or shut up. the people that cry about the trucks not being like they used to be dont contribute.

I think we ALL seem to be on the same page here, and Jesse brings up a point I said earlier about people on the computer whining but don't build anything. I don't won't people to think I'm also one of those people so heres just a portion of the shows I've went and PAID to support in 2007.
LOATP, Slammin' & Jammin', Scrapin' the Smokies, Mini Nationals Nopi, Mini Nationals PF, plus SEVERAL "hometown" shows even if it wasn't in MY hometown. I'm sure theres more shows I went to that are name reconizable but I just got out of bed so thats the best I can do! I just wanted to make sure people knew that I didn't start a thread that I don't even back myself.

agree 100%

show attendance would be up 10 fold if people brought what they had, finished or not. i like seeing what people are working on. i love fully done trucks, but the trucks that are in progress are fun to look at and shoot ideas back and forth with the person building it.

as for the drinking, thats exactly how i feel. if you so wasted you cant find your hotel, let alone stand on your own, you're too gone. but if you just throwin a few drinks back to loosen up and shit, then thats cool.

Personally, I'll stick to the small town hot rod shows where the people know how to act mature and don't come with intentions of getting drunk and tearing property and vehicles up.

But that's just me and I'm getting old.

i dont think any of have the intentions of fucking up trucks, some may go knowing they get violent/crazy when drunk and shit may get broke....but i dont think ANY of us minitruckers would fuck with someone elses ride, be it a mini or not.

I havent been to a mini truck show in about 3 years ever since i sold my isuzu, but i am building another mini this winter because i miss all of the fun from the first years of summer slam in va and east coast nationals, i dont even know if these shows are still around but i plan on hitting the road every weekend and im going to enjoy the show and represent the minis even if im the only one there.

ive been sitting on this for a while, i think its time i spoke my mind. one thing im sick of is attitudes. it seems to me like a lot of people these days are missing the point of building a showing trucks or cars. i dont know about anyone else, but for me its for the love of doing it and going out and enjoying your hard work. im so sick of seeing people bashing someone elses shit because they dont like the persons style or things of that nature. have some respect. if you dont like it why waste your time talking shit? when someone starts saying things like im better than this person cause they use drag blocks and i kill my rockers is fucking stupid. who really gives a fuck? dont get me wrong i like to see a truck draggin but saying you are better than someone because you drag rockers or frame is possibly the lamest shit ever.

i know its probably a waste of time to try and stop this stuff from escalating but i know im doing my part. i wish i could see everyone getting along because we all have the love for the same thing. its not about who has more money in there ride, who you hang out with, what club you roll with, its about the love for what you do. we all share that.

i know for me i was just that way. i talked shit about some local guys because i didnt like the style they were doing. i judged these people and boy was i wrong. i met one of the guys and it changed my outlook on everything. i wish everyone could have an experience like that because you realize that we are more alike than different.
