Here is another Porterbuilt rendering. This is all 3d once again and you cannot see the detail in the little split but its got some airbrush work in there. Thought you guys would like to see.

Also you might want to check out the October issue of Popular Hot Rodding. We are the featured artist in the Dream Car of the Month section, inside back page.

carter, love your work, a few questions,

what do your renderings start at? the reason i ask is because i am a model and texture artist by trade so i kno how much time models take, just wondering how you make it worth your while.

great job

No1Lowr, It is a fine line between photoshop and 3d. The thing that most try to do is model in ALL the detail. I have learned where to draw the line and can photoshop in a lot of the detail that would take time to mode (door cuts, lights, ect.) Since you do texturing you know how much FUN it can be to get the textures on these bad boys. I have a patent in a photoshop technique that allows us to change the final render faster than anyone can. it is not uncommon for me to do 20 version of a paint scheme in just under an hour. I do charge more than most on this site but I think that what you are getting is a complete digital build of you vehicle.

Here are some HDRI light scenes....

plus some quick animations.... camera move is crap but this was a test on render times really. I got 14 secs a frame out of this on, put the flash really compressed it bad.

Flash animation of the above truck

Shoot me an email I will give you a lowdown on our pricing.

Ok Im new to this so it might be a stupid question, but what programs are you using for your renderings?
toad32   +1y
not a stupid question at all. I use a program called Modo made by Luxology. I just switched to the from Lightwave made by Newtek. Plus a little Photoshop for good measure.

Those are both sick but I think the grey paint is a lil choppy on the tahoe.

Thats because in the hires it is a grey METALLIC so that is why on the low res it looks like that. The hi res is 20x16@300dpi, I think?

How long did it take you to learn the 3d modeling program, and did you go to classes for it? I downloaded Blender a while back and fiddled with it, but I couldn't teach it to myself like photoshop.
