yah just take it to a machine shop and have them dip it...and it will come back clean, but i still wire brush the blocks and heads before i paint them
I've had good luck using rattle can high temp engine paint as a primer then painting with basecoat/clearcoat. It doesn't get affected by heat or stain easily. This is with a turbo setup with a lot of heat.
cool i knew about dipping it i got it al lsmooth and probably wil ltake to get it dipped on monday then get ready for the rebuild
you gotta do a complete tear down for a dip right?? thats too much unless I plan on changing the internals, what about abrasive blasting? or just stick with the wire brush trick?
ya imbuilding a turbo motor so mines all taken down
always good to spary a couple coats of epoxy primer on that bare block then just prep/paint as normal
