Yeah it might be fine indoors, but when exposed to the elements, it will not last. As least not for long... It might look good for a year of so though. The constant temperature changes and the moisture in the metal will come thru and cause problems down the road..

PPG has a clear primer, base, and of course clearcoat. Havent seen anything done with these however. Just word of wind

I overheard my instructors at Wyotech oneday talking about a "self-etching clearcoat". It might be the clear primer you were talking about. I'm kinda interested in this now because I want to experiment with a few outdoor metal sculptures that have a "raw" or unfinished look.

CALL HOUSE OF KOLOR DIRECT i remember tlaking with CRaig Fraser about this and they were making a clearcoat for metal awhile back but it would be special order i think i dont remember.
