are there different types of Blitzluft valves ?

I dont even have a water trap on my truck, i havent found one that goes up to 200 psi yet nor have i found some good affordable 1/2 check valves. those are nice with the one way valves so you dont loose air in ur bags when u lose tank preasure. But untile then i will continue to have new crazy stories when a piece of metal sticks through one of my air lines, or other off the wall stuff happens.oh yeah on the pic i was just a half inch shy of makin truck snow angles.

Water traps are a waste of time. There, I said it!
I hate to admit that, since I used to be a water trap salesman, but the truth is that they don't work on our systems!
To make the water separate from the air coming out of your compressor, it needs to be cool. Most people mount their compressor and tank right next to each other, which means that the air is still warm when it passes through the separator. It might get some of the moisture, but it won't catch it all!
So, unless you have 10-15 feet of line from your compressor to your air tank, water is still going to get into your system. At that point, what's the use of running the separator in the first place?!
My recommendation is to run a tank that has an internal coating to prevent corrosion (or a stainless or aluminum one), and just drain your tank occasionally. Obviously, if you live in a humid climate you'll want to drain it more often than if you live in the desert.
But save that 15 bucks you would spend on a water trap towards other parts!

Truth is everyone has their own opinion and can only speak from what they have experienced. I'am currently running the GC Extreme valves, they came with the truck. I do know they stick on occasion in the rear. I had SMC's on my last truck and had no problems. If your using those cheap ass switch box's it may be your switch thats sticking.

gotta love when someone tells the truth instead of trying to sell you a water trap that you will not need. thanks phil

I believe what your saying about the water trap . The only problem with the smc's is as soon as they get any moisture in them they start sticking. The only way to fix this is to run nitrogen. GC's stick for no reason. I've had a lot of luck with tearing the valves apart and put a little graphite for lube to stop from sticking. I'd say just get some parkers, their made for gas, water, and oil, so your covered no matter what.
