I like any high build epoxy primer..U-Pol is a great company..havent tried their primer..but they manufacture Fiberal which is the greatest thing known to bodywork..Just make sure you use a primer that has a catalyst or a hardner..if not it will fill in sandscratches taht will later shrink and expand showing them up later in your nice paint..

i use DTM 3n1 primer from keysone. 90 bux for a gallon w/ hardener and its high build as fuck.

Shit...all these different primers. I don't know what to use now. Are all these primers tintable? Or at least have some type of color options? I am really interested in possibly doing two different colors just to have some style into until I get it painted.

I know its not a primer but if you want color why dont you use Hot Rod Flats .They have color or flake or even pearls that are flat like primer.

How much does that run? Does it look good? Got any pictures of rides with it on?

Spectra Prime is some good stuff, you can get it at Sherwin Williams. Has a shine to it too, it's like "almost paint"

u-pol is a great primer, thats what i use. it will fill a 80grit scratch and can be baked to sand in 15 minutes.

also, when you get there, use their clear. it is a very high solids, meaning you get more build per coat (like twice what you get with ppg and others). Plus you get more for your money, we pay $180 for over a gallon of clear, hardener, and reducer.

any primer is tintable, aslong as you use urethane basecoat in urethane primer. i do it all the time at work. works like a charm. look in the UC thread of project JENNAY. its done w/ keystone primer and dupont fast blue mixing color.

oh ok. So basically theres no need to spend $90-$100 on primer then. So what would you suggest to use james? If they are all tintable too then why the price differences?
