I am truly saddened that a forum based on the continuing progress of my brother's most prized possession has become such a source of negativity. Up until this point I have allowed my brother's closest friends speak on his behalf in regards to his truck. However, I can no longer sit back and keep my mouth shut like a good little girl when the integrity of my family and close friends is called into question. I will not disclose the financial aspect of the build of Chalky Blue in this thread, as it is not the place and I, personally, find it distasteful. I just want to make it very clear that Cris was paid exactly the amounts he requested. Scott, my mother, and I have kept records of all expenses related to this build and I assure everyone that Cris's figures are grossly inaccurate. Nobody ever accused Cris of being the "bad guy". Our only grievance with him was his lack of communication with us, the people that were paying him to do a job. We have many pictures detailing the lack of progress on the truck while in his care. Actually, we only decided to have someone else finish working on Scott's truck due to Cris's indication that he no longer had the time nor desire to complete the project. He was reluctant to turn the truck over to us when we drove to his house to pick it up. Perhaps, Shawn was a little overzealous in his response to Cris's sarcastic post but I appreciate his dedication to my brother's memory. You can't throw stones without expecting a few hurled back at you. I apologize if Cris feels that he didn't get the praise he deserves but my family's priority is to get my brother's truck completed like he wanted. As far as Cris selling the first frame to me, that amount is incorrect as well. I have the cancelled check for that frame. Also, he was in the process of selling the frame without informing us about it. Scott's friends called me to ask if I knew it was for sale! Why should I thank him for a business deal in which he set the price? Scott probably would not appreciate the recent drama surrounding the build of Chalky Blue. Although, as his sister, I can tell you that he would be deeply upset at the mudslinging toward his family and close friends. He was fiercely loyal to us and we intend to return that favor. BTW, the minitrucking scene has been a saving grace for me and my parents over the past 2 1/2 years. Most of the people that we have encountered have been genuine and kind. Many of these "fat sweaty drunks" have helped fill the huge void left with the unexpected loss of my brother and I will always be grateful for that. I have remained quiet long enough and I needed to speak my peace. I just believe that it is only fair that I have the opportunity to defend my family and my extended minitrucking family. So, Jim, if you need to close this thread, I completely understand. If anyone has continued interest in the progress of Chalky Blue, you may contact Shawn or me privately.
