Just a warning. This is a memorial build thread for a fallen minitrucker. If it goes to the personal side as it is going then it will no longer be a thread. This is about the truck. If you have personal issues with persons take it up with them off of the thread.

I am truly saddened that a forum based on the continuing progress of my brother's most prized possession has become such a source of negativity.  Up until this point I have allowed my brother's closest friends speak on his behalf in regards to his truck. However, I can no longer sit back and keep my mouth shut like a good little girl when the integrity of my family and close friends is called into question. I will not disclose the financial aspect of the build of Chalky Blue in this thread, as it is not the place and I, personally, find it distasteful.  I just want to make it very clear that Cris was paid exactly the amounts he requested.  Scott, my mother, and I have kept records of all expenses related to this build and I assure everyone that Cris's figures are grossly inaccurate. Nobody ever accused Cris of being the "bad guy".  Our only grievance with him was his lack of communication with us, the people that were paying him to do a job.  We have many pictures detailing the lack of progress on the truck while in his care.  Actually, we only decided to have someone else finish working on Scott's truck due to Cris's indication that he no longer had the time nor desire to complete the project.  He was reluctant to turn the truck over to us when we drove to his house to pick it up.  Perhaps, Shawn was a little overzealous in his response to Cris's sarcastic post but I appreciate his dedication to my brother's memory.  You can't throw stones without expecting a few hurled back at you.  I apologize if Cris feels that he didn't get the praise he deserves but my family's priority is to get my brother's truck completed like he wanted. As far as Cris selling the first frame to me, that amount is  incorrect as well.  I have the cancelled check for that frame.  Also, he was in the process of selling the frame without informing us about it.  Scott's friends called me to ask if I knew it was for sale!  Why should I thank him for a business deal in which he set the price? Scott probably would not appreciate the recent drama surrounding the build of Chalky Blue.  Although, as his sister, I can tell you that he would be deeply upset at the mudslinging toward his family and close friends.  He was fiercely loyal to us and we intend to return that favor. BTW, the minitrucking scene has been a saving grace for me and my parents over the past 2 1/2 years.  Most of the people that we have encountered have been genuine and kind.  Many of these "fat sweaty drunks"  have helped fill the huge void left with the unexpected loss of my brother and I will always be grateful for that. I have remained quiet long enough and I needed to speak my peace.  I just believe that it is only fair that I have the opportunity to defend my family and my extended minitrucking family.  So, Jim, if you need to close this thread, I completely understand.  If anyone has continued interest in the progress of Chalky Blue, you may contact Shawn or me privately.

I am Sad to see this thread for MY FRIEND'S Truck take a turn for the worse. This is not what Scott was about. He would take the Good times with the Bad and let it roll. He would not be happy about some of the things that have been done or said, but he would not complain unless it was warranted. I remember talking to him just a couple of days before he passed and he was excited and impressed with what Chris was doing. However, Chris did decide to scrape that frame after Scotts death and go a different route, which to me is not what Scott wanted! The only reason Alicia ended up with this frame is due to Scotts friends telling her about it. A price was agreed upon and the frame was purchased. Nuff said. I too feel that this is not the place to discuss $$$ spent on this truck, however I know how much Scott had spent before his death on this truck with Chris. Numbers are wrong Bro! But anyways... This thread is about the build, many of Scott's friends offered to help out on this project, some from out of state, some in state, but the choice to let Chris complete this truck was by the family as it was close to home and what Scott wanted. It does not matter today what needed rework or what had to be changed, every builder can look at something someone else built and make the determination that it could be done differently or better! Hell, we build stuff ourselves and say that we could of done it differently and maybe we will the next go around. Lets get this thread back on TRACK, post some pictures of this thing as it progress's as some of us are not close by anymore to see the updates. This is the only way Scotts friends can keep tabs of the progress. I personally think that everyone that had a hand on this project just made it one step closer to achieving Scott's DREAM. Let's not forget that.

I'm almost at a loss for words, but I have a few! It's really sad that Alicia had to come on here to defend ANYTHING related to this build. I know a few of you have been there - but I really hope none of you have to go through the loss that she has. I'm ready to look toward Chalky's future - the past is done, and can't be changed. I just hope everyone can let the drama go and move forward with us. At the end of the day, this truck will be built the way that we think Scott would have wanted it. I'm done!
