you either need a roll cage, roll bar, or some tube work to stiffen it up, art, art morrison, and autoweld all strongly encourage you to run a rollcage or roll bar with the 3x2 rails.... im sure that the companies manufacturing the rails know more about them than a SD.com sales rep....

no offense here bro, im sure art morrison would recommend you to build a roll cage to stiffen but i was saying that you dont have to. Rebuild crossmembers to tie the two together. Im sure everyone using 2X3 box tubing is making a rollcage for their truck aren't they? Yeah, we see that all the time dont we

Both of those companys sell frames for race cars, obviously race cars need a stout frame that doesnt flex when launched off the line. This is a different application here, he will be fine, a rollcase would make it badass though

one of the main reasons is the .120 wall 3x2 doesnt offer the stiffness that 3/16 and 1/4 wall tubing does.... take a piece of each and put them on stands at the ends and bounce.... or how about torsional stiffness.... having the flat crossmembers doesnt do much for torsional stiffness.... that would be the twisting of the frame, which that 3x2 .120 could do alot easier with a simple ladder style frame.....

and just for the simple fact that 3/16 and 1/4 wall tubing looks better and is straighter.... i work with 10 ga tubing alot at work and alot of it has a slight bow, and can warp from welding easier, and alot of times it isnt squared (some of the sides can be bowed out, mainly the seam side)....
