well im planning on doing this to a 69c10. And i really just planning on building a simple design thats strong and i can load the back of the truck full of people at shows and drag around. So the bags over the axel should work fine, from what i gather.

i have my bags mounted on my lower bars to where i get pretty damn good lift. Up front my fenders clear my tires by 4 inches all the way up and thats on firestone 2500s all the way around.....it lays hard and drags with the best of them. Its been very helpful to get a lot of lift when you need it i have one of those driveways where your car scrapes when you back out of it. Its cool to mess with static dropped minitrucks who think since im skyrydin im just some truck with rims. The good thing about getting lots of lift is after a 3" b/d you can still turn your mazda and not have to find a field to do it. The upside on over axle is its easy and if you have limited skill you can do it in a few hours. You can bounce off the ground too. ramble ramble blah blah blah

If your doing a 69 the springs are on the arms anyway. just replace them with a bag and cups and lay it out. It'll ride a lot nicer. Having a truck that lays is cool but having a truck that rides like ass isn't.

Yeah I would suggest the same, swap the springs for the bags in the stock location...I'll be doing the same this spring to my dad's 66 chev.
