I think i'm going to spray my 96' taco in a rediculiously large blue kandy flake!!! But I know from experience, Spraying metal flakes sucks!
Has anyone ever used this ol'dude before?
It's supposed to spray dry metal flake onto wet clear and only need three more coats of clear to level out the flake....I just wounder if it works or if it's even worth a fuck? Or the $200 bucks at least???

flake is a bitch be prepared to do alot of cut and buffing .......never tried a gun like that though ...i put down a wet coat of clear and while wet i spray flake in it with clear...also put some marbles or something in the gun to keep the flakes aggitated so the flakes wont klump up
Marbles, huh.......pretty good idea, I also never thought about spraying on a wet bed before aplying any flake, those are great ideas......You must have done this before!!...LOL Thanks, "Lost Cause"
yo' SPICY, I just checked out your profile,Your tacomas are bad-ass!!! I still don't have any pics of mine yet, I 'll have to download some tonight. "Lost Cause"
here is the deal, yes i have used the gun and yes it works great. is it messy? yes! is any flake messy, yes! this is the easiest way to get smoothed flake appearence. i have tried the marble trick and all the others this one works great. i used this gun on my boat and my datsun 620 and it is awesome.
I tried the flake buster and hated it.. It would jam then shoot a bunch if flake in one spot, hard to keep it consistant. I just mixed the flake in some clear and then cleared over that. To me it was alot easier to keep it consistant. Hope that helps.
i have never had one clog. as for using a gravity feed if you go with .025 flake or bigger such as i did you would need something like a .30 needle in a paint gun for it to move. the flakebuster is the way to go in my opinion
just get a piece of pvc pipe, and a ball valve. fill the pvc pipe with flake, hook up the ball valve to a air comp. shoot flake in air. WHEEEEE like you won the lotto!!!
