i use house of kolor and sherwin williams

HoK makes a nice product, but i wouldnt paint my house with sherwin williams. If your spraying HoK for 3 grand your losing your ass, even spraying high line PPG (not omni or global, they are garbage) you'd be losing your ass at 3K.

6 grand your out of your mind that better include shaving everything you can go to a body shop and get a complete color change and minimal body work (door dings) for less than 3 grand i do custom painting on the side of my daily job of painting cars for a body shop and i have never charged mor than 3 grand and it was 6 colors and i did a little shavingdo yourself a favor and call any reputable paint shop, you claim to be a painter which means you should know what kind of time and money goes into a nice paintjob, between the body work, materials, primer, labor, paint alone is around 1000-1500, then there is multiple blockings, color sanding and buffing, etc etc.

for an ametuer painter like yourself this may make it sem like i am, "out of my mind"

you can say what you want but you dont even know me or how long i have been painting or any thing so dont be so quick to judge but 6g for a single color is high maybe not in your area but it is in mine now i could see it costing that much for maybe graphics or a flame job that to me sounds more realisticoh and nice job on making yourself look a like dick

at my shop we start out at 4 grand with minor repairs for one color and thats for a nice factory lookin finish not a slicked out show finish. Not much wetsanding involved for that price.

just finished painting a 1932 ford roadster (all orginal steel body) with bodywork and paint cost was alittle over 22 grand.

nice paint starts about 4500 here in tennessee. i bought the material myself because im a picky bitch and the material alone was over 1500 ! really depends on the neighborhood, ya know? buddy in KY paid 7k and my buddy in atlanta paid 9k. both solid colors and similar cars, color, etc. so thats 2k just 5 hours drive between the two shops and honestly when i saw them both there is no diffeerence in the quality! ive got all the material but i still need someone to paint mine in the nashville area! (any takers?)

i wouldn't touch a complete for less than 6k. simply too much time to make something good enough to let back out the door w/ my name on it. guess that's why i don't really paint for other people anymore though... we're definitely not talking collision repair/factory finish here though, show or close to it only.

and yup, wet feet do suck!

I've sprayed Standox,PPG, Valspar, Debeers,Matrix,HOK, Sherwin Williams,i use house of kolor and sherwin williams, Glasurit, R-M, Spies Hecker and Dupont..

Sherwin Williams is what I spray every day and I love it. Any clear coat that is baked out in 15 min and is as slick as their 931 is great in my book. So paint your house with whatever you want but I'll only paint my cars with Sherwin Williams. You should check out their Planet Color line. You might change your mind...

Our all over paint jobs start at 3k and go up. Just depends on whatcha want? Door Jambs and edge out under the hood takes it to roughly 4500 and double clearing it ( I'd rather re-clear it than buff it) takes it even higher. Just like anything else.. You get what you pay for. You want cheap go to maaco.. You want nice? Spend 5K +

HoK makes a nice product, but i wouldnt paint my house with sherwin williams. If your spraying HoK for 3 grand your losing your ass, even spraying high line PPG (not omni or global, they are garbage) you'd be losing your ass at 3K.

I put a 2005 tahoe into CCC pathways witch is a bodyshop program and just takeing it apart to paint it and painting it not show just collision repair standards and it was 5300 bucks. It kinda depends on who you know i hook my friends up a lot more then some one i dont know but paint alone is around 1500 (ppg only its not worth my time to spray any thing less) and then my boss charges 100 a day for use of the paint booth. but 6k is a good price.

Wow, Ive seen single color paint, no body work. For $3500. But thats here in Houston. Thats mostly because there is a body shop on every corner. So prices have to be competitive. Where there is less paint shops to chose from the prices will be higher. So everyone just needs to keep that in mind. Stop the hate and masterbate ,it takes the edge off! LOL

we used to paint alot but now no one wants to pay anything people think painting a car is easy its alot more than people think.. i say 4-6 grand for show finish is right

I think the price varies from state to state city to city. But your always gonna get what you pay for, and that statement holds truest for paint and body. Go snoop around some of your local shops and find one that you like, you might just find a decent price for nice work.

Also if you have done a complete before, you know why it costs so much. NO ONE LOVES TO DO BODY WORK. lol good luck man.
