a car is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. check for normal abuse on these cars especially the rearend and frame also all the turbo equipment.

$8900...hell, you can't even touch a decent one for that...the '93 fox body cobras go for $15k all day and the GN's and T-types are harder to come by when it comes to orginal and unmolested...if it's not a clone and the mechanicals are in working order, a little tlc is expected but not a total overhaul...just do some hardcore research and talk to some other GN owners if you're the weary...just my .02...

make sure its an 87, 87s are the rarest of the 3 years they were made and the most valuable. not sure how much this affects the blue book value per year but i do know that 87s are the most valuable.

I myself am a huge fan of GNs. It's the small displacement and big output that really do it for me BUT to most people it's just an 87 Buick Regal. There is a fellow here locally that has a few dozen of them in various states from an untitled GNX with a few miles up to burned-out hull. He also has a complete building full of the guts to make one of these cars. Engines, trannies, tires, wheels, interior....he's an absolute fanatic.
Here's his most famous.

My main concern would be with the shape of the floor pans. G-bodies like to rot out right where the front of the wheels come into the floor. Pull up the back seat and look under carpet and check for rust. G-bodies like to hide rust so check over the trunk floor, front floor pans, wheels wells, and someimes the rear frame rails. I've worked on these g-bodies alot and thats all the bad spots that like to hide. Other that drive it thoroughly and shake down the front end before you buy it. A simple check of the VIN at a dealer can tell you if its a clone or not.

before i bought my typhoon i got on syty.net and did HOURS of research...so find a GN forum, ask questions, find out the vin # and check the sequence and then search the forums for that production # and if anyone has posted bout it! I found out on the one i was buying 1993 #1449 was posted on the forum and was even a spy shot of it up in PA and i live in TX...so just do your homework...it will pay off!
