I've finally gotten some much needed work finished on my s10. the truck was an electrical nightmare (thanks to the hack-job of the previous owner )... new valves, switchbox, all new wiring, i ran new wiring for my big 3, moved the battery inside the cab, and some other junk..

I'm at the point where im feeling ready to cap off my pillars, roof, and rear cab from where i took the roof off...

Ive been searching on here and throughout the internet trying to find some good pics of how people have capped their pillars and such, but havent had much luck...

Anybody chop the roof on a truck and have some pics by any chance? or know where i could find some good pics of this being done?

any help is greatly appreciated... thanks a bunch!

You put the battery inside the truck? Thats not really a good idea.

yea i have it mounted where the jump seat used to be in the extra cab area... i used a marine style battery box to keep it away from the elements.... no room up front in the engine bay, and im trying to keep the inside of my bed clean..

why wouldn't it be a good idea? BMWs have them under the back seat in nearly all of their sedans with posts going all the way into the engine bay

inside the cab is ok if you use an optima or other sealed battery. a reg car battery releases noxious gases when under charge and load.

yeah regular car batteries under seats are vented and hoses run the fumes outside of the car.

damn, thats good info to know

i know some GM vehicles have the mounted under the backseat in a lot of cars but they do have vent tubes. thats a handy piece of information to have. but if you have no roof i don't see a problem with it.

vw vanagons have the battery under the passenger seat.
