Hey all...new here...been browsing for a while though. But now I have a little progress and pics on my project so I thought i would join and post!

Anyway its a B2600i my little bro bought a while back...we shaved it lowerd it a couple inches and then left it for a while...now its time for bags and possibly sfbd...but we'll make that decision after we get it laid out.

Here's where we left off initially.

And after a couple days work this past couple weeks...here's where we are with the rear

Rear is just about done...only bag mounts and shocks left really...but I am hoping someone here might have some words of advice on the front. I knew the torsion bars, and bump stops had to come out. But it sounds like getting the front to layout might take some more mods? Inner fenders are coming out this week...I read something about flipping the ball joints..having to notch the upper control arm? If anyone has any pics or could explain some of what I will need to do to get the front to lay out that would be awesome. Thanks!

be carefull mounting your links on pieces of tube like that. i did the same thing and someone cut me off and i had to swerve hard and it ripped the frame.. the tube came off alonf with a lil bit of the fram it was welded to. i would make it go all the way accross. just telling you from experience.. not hating..

^^agreed... It would make it a much stronger piece if it was a crossmember & something I've run into as well is with the way the lower links are attached to the frame be sure that the frame will lay and not those or youll be replacing those links soon

Thanks for the advice guys. I will definately be checking that it will lay out without hitting where the lower link mounts (I'm totally prepared to move them inside the frame and up) This spot was just real convenient, I did re-drill the hole up higher than the stock mount so that should help some. And I hear you about running a full crossmember for the upper front links...tearing the frame would suck. Thanks for the responses...I've been reading up as much as I can here, but was really hoping I'd get some feedback on this.

seth built a mazda doing it the same way, except he used 2x3 tubing.. to strengthen it, you should weld a piece of flat stock to the frame, then weld the tubing to that to spread the stress out.. doing it that way, you should have no problems.
