Hydraulic cylinder mounting

Hi guys, is it possible to gut the cylinders and weld a bushing mount to them? This would eliminate just rocking in a hole on the frame. I'm thinking welding to them may warp them and cause leaks once reassembled. Thanks

We welded up some cylinders last month for a guy doing basicly the same thing you want to do. It was for a honda car. He wanted the cylinders notched and 2" 1/4"wall d.o.m. welded to the top, so he could run a poly bushing(like 4-links) we also shorten them some for clearence problems he had. I Tig welded the joints but you can Mig weld them and be fine, just pressure check it for leaks.

and my set up runs horizontally over top of the head and fuel rail

werd, ive never understood why cylinder are made with no movement at the top. if you look on tractors both side have movement

Sometimes I use the heim joint that screws into the bottom of the cylinder and use some strut cut bump stops as bushings.

hopefully I will be able to drive it over and see you this spring Richie. Control arms are next, Taylor was thinking maybe getting them started in a few weeks. will be driveable after that.
