i asking .. if i got a a/c compressor out of a car can i used that as a engine compressor and make my own brackets. and what ones are oil-less .. or what are some a/c setups people are using .. my friend has a 90 toyota and he's using his a/c compressor as his engine driven an to turn it on he just turns on the a/c or can you splice it in your pressure switch...

?? well im lost and any advice will work... Thanks ,Dustin

you ca do that but you need to put an oiler on it and check it all the time b/c it wont last with out oil get a diesel a/c compressor the work great b/c they are internally lubricated and they are easy to make a bracket for

so if i go to a junk yard and find any diesel a/c compressor i'll work??? an i'll need nothing else like a oiler ?

Where else can I get a york compressor?
You can get a new or remanufactured compressor from Autozone (tell the clerk you need an AC compressor for one of the above applications)
You can also get one from Kilby Enterprises at www.onboardair.com. Expect to pay $100 without clutches for a york new/remanufactured, and do not pay over 50-60 with clutches from a boneyard. My friend got mine for $23 from a junkyard in daytona beach, and shipped it to me for $10. Total investment = $33

did a york 210 ever come with a serp belt, or just a v-belt? if not, where would I get the clutch and pully to convert it?

well I have been doing some research on it. Apparently the clutch from a 96-98 freightliner with a CCI a/c compressor will fit an older v-belt style york, and is 6 groove serpentine.... I will know for sure in the next few weeks when I try it....
