Help me go to college! Please.

plus at nadc u are just paying for ur credits basically, NO WAY someone can learn a correct way to do body work just by going to school for a yr, also, check around, many body shops in nashville wont even talk to u if u tell them u graduated from NADC Auto body. Not to break ur bubble, but i live in nashville and tryin to help u from making a big mistake. U will regret it....

so what should I do? Everyone that I have talked to in person has said different about nadc. Yeah I don't want to waste my money but I do want to go to school. I have friend who have went to wyotech and have a friend who is in nadc right now. He started in november. So far he has learned alot there and they seem to be teaching him more everyday. I just hate my job and want to get paid for what I love to do. I'm sure some of you all understand where I am coming from. why does chip foose go and teach at nadc if it is so bad? boyd coddington goes to wyotech. so they can't be too bad. all of the body shops around here only have offered around ten bucks per hour if I haven't gone to some sort of school. I plan on going wherever the money is good.

ill be real honest with u....if u really want to do what ever it is u want to do then make it happen..make a plan and stick to it...if u have to work 3 jobs for a 6 month period in order to pay off bills and go to school then do it u dont have kids or a wife i guess so there aint shit holding u back other then u probley wanting to go out and shit and waste time and money if u really want this that bad you need to get off ur ass and make it happen...dont talk about it be about it

i was enrolled and never went i ended up going to a small body shop were i learned everything from sweeping the floor to painting i guess what im saying is you go to school you get back you owe money get a shit paying job in a shop show them you want to learn if you have what it takes you can move up in pay from there at least you can get paid while you learn also you go to a fancy school with laser measuring systems and what not and get back and have a tram gauge and a tape measure

never heard of chip foose teaching at NADC, i would have heard it by now. But do ur homework, call some local body shops that are around the nashville area, just like Jim reed Body shop, they will laugh at u and tell u sorry. Just tryin to help u out.

Plus the fact is that u cannot learn what they are teaching u for what they do.

two reasons:1. every two weeks a new set of students, in numbers of the 100s join and only around 10-20 of those students will graduate. Now can u learn with that many people???? AND u pay almost 17gs for the yr and if u want to hypo it ends up to be almost 21gs, and thats not even counting boarding that charges almost 1g for living in the ghetto...

2. U can get a much better education at a smaller school. That has actual semesters and smaller classes of only 20 peeps in them, plus u get more booth time. And spend no more then 5gs and get an apartment in the good part of town, or they can refer u to an apartment complex that u may also be able to get a discount....

But man, im just tryin to help u make a good choose than what ive seen alot of peeps do. Im a local of nashville and have worked at the dealer for along time and see what NADC puts out and what some dealers say about that school.....

I went to NADC, it's not worth it. The ONLY thing there that is worth a shit is the high performance fab. class, but you can't take just that class, so they kinda fuck you. Half the people there aren't there to learn, it just looked like a good time so the signed up. Also before you commit to nadc, go take a tour, you will find it's nothing like the brochures. It's in the hood, all of the equipment there is run down, its just not worth it to me.

I would but I can't live off eight bucks an hour like that. I have tried to get a job several times in clarksville at some body shops and they have usually said they didn't need anyone. A friend of mine is in a shop in clarksville and he has to live with his parents and carpool with one of his friends who works there and is also only making eight bucks an hour. I know you all are trying to help me out and save me about 23 grand, so are there any other school suggestions that are worth a damn? I have already went to the tenn tech center in paris and all it was was free shop time and a lesson here and there. and there were only twelve of us there. I know that they start out at nadc with big classes but most will quit and the classes will die down to a smaller amount. If I could live at home with either of my parents and work a job at a body shop that only paid eight bucks an hour till I worked my way up I would but I have Bills like all you. Whatever I do it will be soon. I am suppost to be going to see what all I qualify for as far as grants and such her in a week or so. This sucks that nadc is so shitty as you all say. I will have the taco out of my way before too long so that is no longer a problem. baker, didn't you build that rado at nadc?

yes i did. I caught hell about it too. Half the teachers up there are dicks if your in to minis. Some are cool as hell though if you get to know them. If you do go there, hit up Mr. Robarge, he is cool as hell and he's a fucking genius.

yea i had a friend that went there had everything stolen off his car within a week of bein there i took a tour when i was in school and i laughed.

I guess if I doo go there I will catch all kinds of hell to. I plan on doing everything I can possibly do during the time I am there. And all of my expensive stuff will stay at my house unless they plan on stealing a cab, bed and motor to my truck. I am going to thorughly check everything out beefore I decide. I talked to my friend that is in now and his class is full of rednecks. but he has learned all kinds of shit.
