Hey im in the process of body dropping my rager and just had a few questions. if im body dropping it on 18's will i need to move or find a new brake booster. also im doing stock floor body drop, do i lower the mounts 2.5 in? at the same time i am doing my z in the front, is the standard z 2in? or 2 and 1/4? and one last thing, since i am z'ing it and bd it at the same time, i noticed that in front of the control arms the frame is about 3in tall. like where the shoe horns/ radiator mount is, how do u step that down so that it doesnt look so bad? does any1 have pics of a bd and z'd ranger frame in the front? Please any advice will help, i know i can do it, i just like to have all the information that i can get b4 i start. also its nice knowing what kind of problems people ran into while they were doing theres....

For the brake booster you can use a geo metro brake booster and mastercylinder thats what im doin. Theres other set ups you can run also to.

If you are doing an actual SFBD as in building a frame from the front clip back you really don't do a Z. At least not in my opinion.

Cut off the back off the frame, about 5-6 inches from the lower control arm mount. Get the front clip sitting on the ground flat and with the motor and tranny angled correctly. Then just mate up the 2x3 rails to the front clip. To mate them you will have to angle the pieces down, so you will create what looks like a Z but you are just mating frame work together.

well i have a pretty bad ass notch that i want to keep, so i just want to stock floor it under the cab, then traditional it in the bed to make my tubs look a little smaller. i had them put in to clear 20s and a bd, so they are freakin huge right now.

Oh ya i know i can use a geo metro brakee booster, i work at oreilly auto parts and ive already ordered one to see how it looks and how it would fit, but im wondering can u use the factory ranger booster and still lay it out on 18s. well i know ull have to move some of the brake lines and the distrubutin T lookin thing. also i know Msturg has pics of his wiring harness, does anyone have any of like the fuse box moved to the radiator core support? thats what i was thinking about doing.

PICS PICS PICS PLEEEAASE!!!

I redid all my wiring so the fuse box is actually under the dash on the pass side and the harness runs through the wiper cowl. The only wires in the engine bay come out of the cowl and go to the motor and the headlight wires i am going to run on the inside of the frame to the bottom of the core support. i am also building a tube core support that is 1/2 done now. Keep in mind the I have extended the harness in 4 spots with over 600 feet of extra wire. My truck is z'ed 2 inches in the front and i run a 245/35/20 tires that rubs the booster if the back is up and the front is down only.

do u have any pics of your z and under your hood...? i just want to get an idea of how you did and whats best for me to do it? any advice will help thanks

No pics as of yet, but if you are doing a new frame just lower the front for the core support and front clip the build the z into the new frame that you are puttin in.All I did for the z was cut in front of and behind the motor then jacked the motor/frame up 2 inches and completely plated. That was last winter and I ended up pulling the motor and painting the whole frame.

DAVID... when I had my 2000 Ranger, I did a SFBD with a '92 yota front clip and had 18x8" wheels with low pro tires (35 series I believe).. I used the STOCK brake booster. You could probably do the same, just correct the camber so the wheels don't come in as much to hit the booster. Also, you can keep your stock A/C & heat.. just have to re-work the hell out of it.

ya ive already ditched the a/c and heat, i was looking at the wiring harness yesterday and man do i got some work ahead of me. so when you z it, do u do it 2in or 2 and a 1/4? and if im just taking it to the rockers, is it 3 in?
If anybody has pics of their bd ranger frame pleeease send them to me or post them please! thanks to all of you, youve really been helpful
