oh ya is it possible to keep the stock hood if i lower the engine back down...? is the oil pan going to have to be modified? should i go ahead and get a cowl or an Edge hood? ive heard with a z you can modify the throttle and what not and not lower the motor, so with a z and a bd should i just make new engine mounts and modify the throttle?

i dont think that a stock 98 hood will fit. atleast on mine it wont. i just got a edge hood and cut out some of the underlying supports and it fits jsut fine over the motor. all i did to the throttle bracket was cut off where cruise cable used to be and thats about it.

im building a 94 ranger with 98 front suspension....im running a stock hood without lowering the motor...its the 94 2.3l, maybe the difference is in the motor? but you would think that you could keep the stock hood

ya i hope i can keep my stock hood, i want to keep it as stock as possible. ive some pics of some motor mounts on a 2.5 lowered, so im hoping i can do it. so does any1 have any pics of a stock frame bd?

when I did mine I was unable to keep the stock hood had to go to an edge one and modify that slightly as for the brakes I got a 7" booster and modifies that to accept my stock master and had to move the whole assembly up 2" and over 1" to clear the control arms and for my clutch master to clear

check out the bd on this ranger that i did;
aftermarket hood but that how the truck came to me. i had to cut on the i-beam for the motor.but motor is out of the hood, if you take the time you can make it work, hit me up and i will show you more pics, though out the process

I have a 96 mazda which is essentially the same thing as the 94+ BD 4.5 traditional. I have a 2.5 cowl hood, 18x8 and no modification to the brake booster was needed for me. The wiring harness was moved to the passenger firewall, since there is no more heat/ac and the fuse box was moved to where the battery was. Don't have any GOOD pics, but they can be seen at http://www.keefsrodncustom.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1938 prolly not much help as far as pics, but i've been told i have room for 20's with a really low pro tire. I have some swampers on there now with my 18's lol
