One thing to keep in mind is that most states require a light for the license plate. So make sure you have something set up to avoid another ticket!
Also, I don't know about other states, but in California the plate has to be close to the back of the truck, so putting it between the bed and cab or in the rear window is another no-no... more stupid laws, but something to keep in mind before you put a bunch of effort into something...
