HELP Rear tube chassis- getting started

I was looking for pics and or some help on how to get started on doing a rear tube chassis on my taco... where do i start? where do u cut my frame? how do i make it strong? and bends that are manditory?

I'd hate to state the obvious, but if you have to ask those questions, maybe you shouldn't be doing it!

That's like asking how do I drive my car? How do I start it? Where is the brake? How do I steer?

Maybe you should learn the basics of how to drive before you get behind the wheel.

If only there was license for fabrication.

hes telling the truth, if you have to ask, maybe its a lil too much to do. there are a number or websites, tech articles and publications that cover the subject you wont find on SSM, google is your friend

i agree 100%. There are certain things that shouldn't be asked going into this type of job. How to make it sturdy and strong is one of them. Do you know how to set up the rear suspension? I would pick up some books, or search the forums for a wealth of information.

im doing my first chassis right now, and i have read alot of books and asked alot of people questions. but there has been some stuff i had to redo because of error. give the guy a break everyone, maybe he has an idea of what to do and hes just trying get our suggestion from our own trial and error. hockeygod if u do not know whatyour doing my best suggestion i can make for you is get a buddy to help you that does know what hes doing.

Man, I could have sworn this was a tech forum for info... Pneufab... and for your info, I have done suspension work before, but nothin this extensice. And since none of my friends have dont this kind of thing either, I would ask for help... TIs not like driving a car... Nice try at a analogy.. try again.. No, I dont know how to set up a rear suspension, thats what i am asking, sherlock... Well if there are so many sites that can help, how about a link or 2... that would be helping also... Sorry that my suspension work has been basic as of now and i want to try something new... thanks for the help...

just check out the taco profiles on here. you will find out alot just by doing that. im dooring my first truck and all my infor has come from studying other peoples pics. i built my own frame just recently. and all i did was combine a bunch of other people ideas plus some of my ideas. its turning out to be a really nice frame now. if u arent sure about something in ur build just support the shit out of. it. or just ask questions. but you cant expect someone to tell you how to build your whole back half. i hope i was somewhat helpfull with my info. and i kow where you are coming from. you gotta start somewhere right?

if your not willing to build a jig, dont even bother.
