starting out in autobody what are the basic tools you should have?

i just bought a set up body hammers and i'm gonna pick up a set of new sockets and wrenches cause my stuff at home is a miss match of shit.

anyone else think theres anything i should add to the list

start saving for all your air tools.

Respirator And Filters!!!, They have Body Filler mixing plates with removable paper at finish master its the shit makes clean up easy. A plethera of different sand paper. Air tools are good but create waves for finish body work a good long block is a must along with a standard sanding block

i'm just lookin real basic right now for an apprentice job , but yeah i know air tools down the road and all that kinds shit

mainly i'd be doing light stuff swapping out doors, fenders, bumpers

not playing with filler yet

since its an apprenticeship you might wanna ask your mentor before going and spending a grip on things he doesnt want you using right away...

When I started the first thing I bought was a 246 piece set of tools from craftsman. I was a helper so I would buy the things I borrowed the most until I ended up with all the major stuff I needed. One thing though, dont buy shitty tools cause there gonna break and youll waste money getting new ones. Invest in quality stuff. All my stuff is SNAP-ON, MATCO, or Craftsman from when I was starting out.

You will absolutely never have enough air tools and vice grips. Autobody? Make sure you got a decent DA and sanding blocks first off. Then just start with more and more air tools as you go.
