just wondering if anybody ever had a problem with the head light wiring on hardbodies.I have power going to both of them but when i plug the light in it seems to loose power and the light does not work. Bulbs are good when i splice into the other head light they both work. Also the high beam switch turns on but when its on the head lights cut out completely. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Had the same thing happen twice, change the turn signal switch, its not hard just remove the steering column plastic and unscrew the assembly and unplug. Then the opposite to install. I know it sounds dumb but it worked for me. Mine is a 91/87, once they changed the interior 93?, I do not know if its the same. Sometimes I could turn the headlights on and off a couple of times and both headlights would work but that was like only about 2% of the time for one of the switches I replaced, the other was dead all the time. Mine also had cruise control and some other features on the switch, I do not know if this makes a difference. Hope this helped.

you mean replace the whole switch handle and all and it should work fine

i have a similar prob but with mt running lights if i was to get in the truck and hit the brake pedal my dash lights came on and and the little chime sounded like my lights were on and no key in,now i ran a new ground from the pass tail and everything seems to be fine come to think of my brights didnt work either try that what year is it i have a wiring sheet for all years

start with checking all your grounds then check your relays and like they said check the switch i'm gonna try to find wiring diagrams for it

make sure you have good connection on all your wires from the switch to the lamp. all you need to do is turn your head lights on then check all the leads with a test light. i think your not getting a good connection between the switch and the light and it sounds stupid but check all your fuses as well

checked all fuses relays and also i am getting power all the way up to the head light but when i plug the light in it seems to loose power and light does not work is there any way to test the switch itself
