Picked up a new project, 84 c-10, and i got a question. The front end of these trucks typically need to be z'd in the front to lay nice and hard. Well i was talking to some guys at a show about the k5 blazer hills hotrods just rebuilt and I was told it has an aftermarket cross member under the front, which doesnt require the front end to be z'd to lay flat... Anyone heard of this? or is it something that has to be fabbed up? I want the truck to be a daily so im not looking to get to deep with suspension, just some simple and reliable. thanks for the help

yea,i think its like a 1500 dollar price tag,if you just want to lay it out for a daily driver, just get 3 inch spindles and maybe some control arms, all i did was step my control arms but i'm going to fab my own tube arms,i got more fab experience than i got money, but hey if you got that kinda cash its the way to go for sure, its a whole other forum on here about the exact same subject

go to www.porterbuiltstreetrods.com look up the "Dropmember" it's the only way to go, fully bolt in and will make the truck lay frame. Check the chevy truck forums on here and on www.67-72chevytrucks.com for some information. I'm getting one for my truck and I have all the parts priced out, it'll be just around $2000.00 for the Dropmember and all the steering sh!t to do the rack and pinion, depending on the parts you choose, I priced out Unisteer parts and Borgeson power steering hoses. Then, if you choose, ART control arms are around $800.

micheal, like dave said it is a poterbuilt dropmember. It is an awsome pc all bolt in. it will raise the engine about 1-1/2" you have to go to a rack and pinion and will narrow the front track width by about 1" per side but it will centre the front wheels in the wheelwell opening when laid out.one of the best products out there for the 67 and up pickups / suv well worth the cash you pay for the product

porterbuilt is what you are looking for. 100% bolt-on. takes only one sunday afternoon to install. minor notch needed for streeting, other than that you only need basic hand tools to install. check profile for pics. contact clint at kp components if you have any questions. kplinks.com they are the only authorized dealer for the dropmember. they also have an ad in streetrucks for the dropmember.

in the january 2008 street trucks...porterbuilt and kp components did an install of the dropmember along with the kp 6-link and watts link. pgs 82-88.
