if it idles fine but when you press the accelerator it struggles to stay on if not cutting off completely then itis most likely your fuel filter its partially blocked probably so it lets some fuel through but when the car demands more then it cant supply it cuz the line blocked check that and like seth said the fuel cut off solenid as well
should also be a filter on the pass side frame rail just behind the cab.sounds like your problem is in the carb itself tho.my nephews yota done the same thing, put a used carb on it and that cured the problem.
i will check out the solenoid tomorrow. i will take my multimeter and all. i was told that may be the problem, and then was told it wasnt by another person. it was running at one point, so i dont know whats up, maybe i fried that thing?
I doubt you fried it. I had a similar problem after putting my truck back together. It ran fine at first, then I accidentally disconnected the ground on the Fuel C/O Solenoid and it ran like a bag of ass.
But then again it did similar things recently. I fixed it by starting it cold and letting the choke kick on, then revving the piss out of the motor by hand and covering the choke side of the carb until ti nearly died. It creates a high vacuum and pulls dirt crap and corruption out of wherever.
you take it apart carefully, clean everything thoroughly put the rebuild parts in then put it back together the way it came apart. before all this starts you stop being angry though.
lol im not really so much angry as i am annoyed. i may buy a carb from the JY tomorrow in hopes it works.....dont know if they can tell if they will or not.
