What it cost me and what it would have cost someone else are about 2 worlds apart lol.

I sell paint, collision parts, and body shop supplies for a major collision parts company, so I have a very good relationship with my painter, and I was able to get all my supplies at cost. So with that being said, my painter worked on the truck around Insurance jobs and when he had extra time, its been at his shop since middle of August, so all said and done I have about $3500 in the paint job and meterials that would have cost in the 7 to 10 range if I didn't have connections.

Yeah thats about what I figured. A buddy painted mine real cheap and now that I have been seeing more and more peoples work and what they paid I realize that I got a hook up. It looks like you did as well. Man I bet it will look badass in the sun.

I just wish I would have gone a little crazier on mine.

Appreciate the getting back to me.

Thanks
Robert

Yeah when I dropped it off in August I intended only to paint it white and fix dent's and then bag it... Then I saw a black 2002 chevy dually at SEMA that was flamed, and the rest, as they say, is history... I am glad I went ahead and dropped the coin to do the paint now, I can always bag it later...

I am hoping to roll it out of the shop today so I can snap a couple photos of it in the sun, we still have to wet sand and polish and finish putting the front back togther, put the bumpers back on, and install mirrors, door handles, and belt moldings, and redo the tailgate... oh and did I mention my body guy just got 4 new Insurance jobs in... Hope I get it done before the 13th so I can make it to the Starbirds show...

Cool man sounds good.. Hope to see a bag project soon..... haha

So your buddy just mainly does insurance jobs? So did he just start airbrushing? Or has he done it for a while?

2 different guys; body work, base coat (white), clear, wet sand and so on were all done by John at Old Town Collision/Silver and Stone Customs. The Airbrush work was done at Old Town, but it was done by Juice of Graffics by Juice, who has his own shop out in Augusta (suburb of Wichita)... Confused yet

Well I went over to the shop at lunch and swapped out the battery so I could pull it out side and take some pictures. Still needs to be color sanded and buffed but boy do those colors pop in the sun light!!!

Click on the picture for a larger view, my work has Photobucket firewalled so I had to use what I could to get them loaded..
