Alright, I will do a package deal on cross members with motor mounts. I might bring some down to FFF if I have time to make a few. If not I will have them at Danger Zone. I need to get my website back up and running...

Nope. Haven't worked on any S10s. And as I understand they came with several different motors over the years. I don't know how many of them use the same mounts.

s10 parts = making bank....focus on 2.2 4bangers.

I would if I could. I don't know anyone with a bodydropped S10.

so...ive got a 92 2wd yota. just blocks and bars. keepin it that way for a while. id like to go lower though, but retain my ground clearance. as of right now, i only drag the bigger speed bumps. i know ill need to swap front wheels and modify the inners more. anyways, back to the clearance issue. my torsion bar adjusters and tranny crossmember are the main thing i drag. id like to tuck them to frame level.

would i be better off just trimming and plating my crossmember or should i replace it all together. i know i need to respline the bars to get the keys back up. also, are the v6 bars interchangable? i like the stiff ride, and if i resplined v6 bars in wouldnt that come out to a rough ride at a lower height? also, offhand do you know what a good backspacing/offset would be? im lookin into some new wheels soon and havent measured much yet. just rockin my beaner wheels. (not enough backspace, bought it that way)

you rock man...im all ears.

I'll be honest, I don't remember much about the stock crossmember or the torsions because I cut them out within the first week of having my truck. And I haven't been under a stock Toyota since. So I don't know how much you could safely cut off while retaining the torsions.

I would guess that the V6 torsions would be a bit stiffer to accommodate the added weight. I'm not sure if they get stiffer or softer when you lower them? I haven't played with torsions really. I do know that when you "crank the torsions" that retaining device points towards the ground and sucks for clearance. I would re-index them so that they are in the stock position. Pull them out and reinstall them with the suspension at half droop or something.

Here is a good site with re-indexing info.Click Here

You might be able to move the crossmember up and drop the actual transmission mount down. But it seems like a lot of work for a static drop. It might be easier to install cheap OEM coilovers from a junkyard at that point. Or bag it and run schraeder valves to set the height for now. You could at least reindex for more clearance, and cut the bottom of the crossmember off and plate it for some more clearance.

As for wheels, at 7" wide you would only need around +30-35 offset to tuck. 7.5" wide, up to +38. 8" wide around 40-45 and probably 45 for an 8.5" wheel. I'm just kind of rounding off numbers here, but thats a general range.

thanks man. knew youd have some answers on the wheels. its gonna get a 4link and coil overs out back. i wanna roll low and old school. my other truck is gonna be the door dragger.
