Anybody change out theirs?? Want to redo mine ,is a bow type now, stock. Want to made a hard panel type.
yea i would like to do the same ,but if you did a traditional bd everyones heads will rub your fabric off.might be better to sew to the existing headliner
why not just glue to the factory headliner?
Stock my year is a bow type, wire hangers,in 4 or 5 places!,Sits just off the roof!! Want to do like later model trucks & cars, material on a padded panel!
mine was the wire and bow but i got a headliner out of a differnt truck that had a hard one in it it was only 100 worth every penny
ive seen it done before on tv on some show. they took the body, flipped it upside down, laid down a bunch of plastic wrap and fiberglassed all over it. to make the board. plastic wrap kept it from sticking to the car. what about that idea?
No cab removal, truck is 90 percent done!
Will use sheet ABS plastic, glued to spacers glued to metal roof, & same material as seats over high density foam! Glue the edges like now too the roof lip all the way around.
Hey Gary, could you maybe do something like Joe suggested except with an extra roof off of a scrap truck? It would be easier to do that way too on account of only having the roof to deal with, just lay it across a pair of saw horses and go to town on it. If it worked well you could always build a mould from it and sell more. Probably be a few takers with how popular fiberglass interiors are these days. Just a thought anyways...
if you truck already has a headliner on it, you can pull off the old material & cover it with fiberglass resin & sand it smooth
some one could clean up taking the roofs from junk yard autos that have the wire headliners and just using them as molds for the fiberglass trick.
